Job Title: Material HandlerFLSA Status (US):
Non-ExemptDepartment: Fruit OperationsReports To: Production
SupervisorSummary:Perform fill-in duties that will assist the team
in the production of aseptically packaged products in a safe, clean
work environment. Must have the ability to run and do maintenance
on several pieces of equipment. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Complete understanding of Forklift Operator
rules, policies, and procedures. Moves levers and presses pedals to
drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus. Positions
forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or
around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products or materials. Unloads
and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device. Keeps
detailed count of berry trays and finished product. Weighs
materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or
production schedules. Loads or unloads materials onto or off
pallets, skids, or lifting device. Maintains forklift in good
running condition.Reports any faulty defects in equipment
immediately to supervisor.Fills out daily equipment checklist.
Fills propane tank using proper safety precautions. Reports all
injuries immediately to Lead/Supervisor. Follows all company safety
policies and procedures and Good Manufacturing Procedures. Adheres
to company GMP's (good manufacturing practices), safety procedures
and all other quality processes. Wear PPE (Personal Protective
Equipment) when required. Food products is consistent with food
safety standards, government regulations, and industry practices
including GMP, SQF and HACCP. All other duties assigned.
QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must
be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

required. College degree or certification preferred. ExperienceOne
to three months of related work experience. Knowledge and Skills
Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos. Must be able to effectively present
information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers,
clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to
add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using
whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and
interpret bar graphs. Must be able to apply commonsense
understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step
instructions.
Must be able to deal with standardized situations with only
occasional or no variables. All operators must complete a forklift
certification before beginning work. Bilingual English/Spanish
