Job Description:
Lead Install Technician -(JD 72)Solar + BatteryWe are seeking an
experienced Lead Install Technician to join our team. This role
will be responsible for driving the success of solar + battery
installation by running the day-to-day activities of a team
installers for our Santa Barbara program. The position initially
consists of making sure the crew is adequately staffed and ready to
install residential solar and battery projects grouped
geographically within the Santa Barbara area. The Technical Lead
will work with the Field Service Supervisor to provide direct
supervision to their team in the field, ensuring the successful
completion of each battery and solar installation. This is a
critical role that will make an impact in our growing business and
take on new challenges at an exciting time. This position will help
develop the process and tools for the field, ensuring the safe
operation and installation of our products, while ensuring smooth
interactions with the warehouse and project personnel. This role is
based in our Oxnard, CA location.Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of installation technicians for solar plus battery
storage
- Assist in scheduling for installation crews
- Train new employees
- -Review job installation plan with crew and supervisor
- Assist in electrical design, site survey, permitting process,
quality reviews and inspections
- Assists in managing and controlling inventory and consumable
use and spend
- Drive Installation best practices
- Drive safety and quality initiatives
- Assist in tracking inventory for each project
- Prepare, load and organize installation vehicles
- Responsible for Safety Training
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve
electrical issues
- Maintain and clean up the job site
- Review timekeeping reports
- Other job duties include equipment purchasing, hardware store
runs, equipment unloading and loading, answering homeowner and
technician questions, and generally participating in activities
necessary to make a solar and battery installation happenWork
Experience:
- 2+ years relative electrical construction and solar experience,
including battery installation experience
- 1+ yr experience leading a PV installation crew
- Ability to read and interpret single line drawings
- Strong understanding of NEC codes with emphasis on residential
PV installations
- Proficient on the installation of grid-tied and micro inverter
applications
- Excellent customer service skills including verbal and written
communications
- Strong computer skillsPhysical Requirements:
- Ability to make multiple trips up and down a ladder daily
- Ability to lift, squat, deadlift, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.

- Ability to work at the ground level, kneeling, or bending
daily
- Ability to kneel and stand repeatedly (lunges), on a daily
basis
- Comfortable in tight spaces (attic, crawlspaces, etc)
- Must be able to work on rooftops with various angles and
surfaces which requires frequent bending, twisting, squatting,
climbing, kneeling, crawling, turning, standing, and balance
- Visual acuity to drive motor vehicles/mobile equipment/read
printed and electronic documents
- Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common
driving/construction environment noises -Education, Licenses &
Certification Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- C10, Electrical Journeyman's License a plus
- Bilingual (English-Spanish plus)
- OSHA 30 Certification preferred
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification
preferred
- Must possess a valid driver's license in the state where the
work is to be performed
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background
and drug screening -
- Must maintain a clean driving recordSalary:$30 pr/hr - $39
