Drum Workshop, (DW Drums), a legacy brand and global leader in the music industry, is hiring a Intellectual Property Coordinator who will be responsible for assisting in managing the intellectual property portfolio of patents, copyrights and trademarks that are both in application process and those that have already issued for our iconic portfolio of brands including but not limited to DW-- Drums and Hardware, PDP--, Gretsch-- Drums and Latin Percussion--.This is a full-time position with work from home flexibility however you must be within commutable distance of our headquarters located in Oxnard, CA. Reporting to Global Intellectual Property, the IP Coordinator will review communication from both internal and outside sources such as from foreign agents, the Company's attorneys, and others to obtain due dates in patent and trademark prosecution matters, docketing deadlines, and reminders. Our winning candidate has working knowledge of patent, trademark, copyright, USPTO terms and documents and has the ability to function well independently and as a team member. Move to the head of the line!Your Day-to-Day as our Intellectual Property Coordinator Organize, maintain, update legal and contract files and promptly store and retrieve information from files (both physical and digital)Maintain docketing files and databases for domestic and foreign patents, trademarks.Review and docket incoming patent/TM correspondence (w/guidance from Global Intellectual Property)Maintain calendars, deadlines, and actions.Assist in email prioritizing and responses regarding contracts, IP deadlines.Work with inside and outside personnel and clients in obtaining legalization, signatures etc... of Agreements and documents as required.Process, track, monitor, and maintain database and file documents related to legal agreements (legal complaints, Vendor & Distributor AgreementsProcess, issue, monitor, and maintain global trademark and copyright alleged infringement, counterfeits, and manage takedown matters across industry related media websites and social media platforms and marketplaces (w/guidance from Global Intellectual Property)What You Bring as our Intellectual Property Coordinator Ability to function well independently and as a team member.Working knowledge of patent, trademark, copyright, USPTO terms and documentsWorking knowledge and experience of the Patent and Trademark application processAbility to maintain the utmost discretion and manage confidential information.Excellent ability to research patents and trademarks via USPTO and other legal resources.Excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to maintain and communicate information professionally.Excellent computer skills with advance skills utilizing Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and adobe.Flexibility and adaptability to changing job duties.Ability to execute responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, despite interruptions and/or changing deadlines.Excellent work ethic and able to multi-taskAssist with other special projects and administrative tasks as neededEducation/ExperienceAt least 5 years working in a busy office with minimum of 3 years' direct experience with intellectual property related matters.Must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills and thorough knowledge of English Grammar, punctuation, and spelling.Bachelor of Arts preferable but not required.Founded in 1972, Drum Workshop, Inc. is a musical instrument company best known for designing and manufacturing award-winning drums, pedals, hardware, and accessories.
