Are you looking for Friday & Saturday off? - -Looking to further your career in the wine industry or learn more about Kosher wines? -Herzog is looking for their next tasting room associate to work from Sunday - Thursday! -This position includes bonus income from our wine membership sign ups as well as tips! If you would like to know more or would like to interview for this position, please apply ! -Compensation range: $16-18/hr -SUMMARY -Tasting Room Associate is responsible for promoting the sales of wine and non-wine merchandise, providing exceptional customer service, assisting with preparing monthly wine club packages, assisting with etching and bottle labeling as needed, and unloading wine cases. This role does not have any supervisory duties. Tasting Room Associates often work evenings and Sundays, as required. - - -ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Performs the following duties, but not limited to: -

  • Ensure that all visitors are greeted immediately when they enter the Tasting Room and provided with experiences that build brand loyalty. -
  • Serves wines in an appropriate manner, which is consistent with Tierra Sur training and standards. -
  • Manage high volume wine and merchandise transactions. -
  • Build relationships with guests to maximize the sale of wine, merchandise, winery tours, and experiences. -
  • Create opportunities to sell other events, services and experiences offered on the property. -
  • Provide guests with the background information on wines, merchandise, and the history of Tierra Sur through informal interaction and guided wine tours. -
  • Present the benefits of the Wine Club programs to guests and contribute to the growth of the Wine Club. -
  • Ensure smooth daily operations including: effective and appropriate communication, successfully manage traffic flow throughout the day, and ensure that guests are being engaged and entertained. -
  • Prepare Wine Club boxes and shipments as needed. - -
  • Load and unload wine cases as needed. - -
  • Perform etching and bottling labeling as directed. - -
  • Perform opening and closing duties. -
  • Work as a team with other associates to reach set daily and monthly sales targets. -
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area. - -QUALIFICATIONS -To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum one year of relevant experience in a wine tasting room, marketing, public relations, hospitality, or related experience is preferred. - - -Knowledge / Technical Skills: Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills; understanding of principles and practices of organization. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and experience with POS systems. - Self-starter with the ability to organize and manage several projects simultaneously and exercise judgment in prioritizing and handling responsibilities. - Strict attention to detail, responsiveness, sound judgment and proactive organization and planning skills. - -Customer Service Skills: Internal and external customer focus, politeness, confidence, tact, patience and diplomacy while dealing with members. Professional Appearance. Excellent customer service, verbal communication and listening skills and the ability to deal effectively across all levels of the business organization.
