Overview

Seneca's Ventura County Crisis Program provides crisis stabilization and short-term residential treatment for youth in serious distress. This groundbreaking program provides a "no eject, no reject" policy to meet the needs of the youth in our care. Our collaborative decision-making process enables each individual youth and family to safely communicate their needs, in order to leverage their strengths, talents, and cultural and ecological resources. Services include linkage to long-term, sustainable supports based on each client's unique strengths and needs.The Awake Overnight Crisis Therapist provides direct services to clients in crisis in conjunction with Psychiatric Health Facility triage staff at a Crisis Stabilization Unit. The Awake Overnight Crisis Therapist position works as a part of a multidisciplinary team comprised of nurses, psychiatrists and counselors.

Responsibilities

* Work with crisis counselors and nurses to assess for risk, treatment needs and linkage gaps.
* Conduct psychosocial evaluation to determine level of care and additional client needs.
* Provide referrals and linkages for additional services as necessary.
* Coordinate and implement treatment and services for assigned clients with counselors, psychiatrist and nurse.
* Work with treatment team to determine course of action for follow-up services.
* Develop and maintain relationships with community members and providers.
* Provide short term therapeutic services to client and family.
* Participate in individual and/or group supervision.
* Participate in on-call crisis response system.
* Chart mental health notes, incident reports, and other documentation as necessary in a timely manner.
* Intervene with the clients' behavior management programs as needed. This includes physical management of the clients (implementation of Seneca's Equilibrium Initiative Training) as necessary.

Qualifications

* Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or Counseling
* Eligible to register and/or registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences
* TB test clearance, fingerprint clearances, and any other State/Federal licensing or certifications
* Valid California driver's license and insurability through Seneca's automobile policy
* Experience working with children in out-of-home care a plus
* Ability to work with a diverse population
* Good organizational and writing skills

Schedule

* Full time
* Schedules Available:
* Option 1
* Friday: 24hr On-Call
* Saturday: 7pm - 7:30am
* Sunday: 7pm - 7:30am
* Monday: 7pm - 7:30am

* Option 2
* Tuesday: 24hr On-Call

* Wednesday: 7pm - 7:30am

* Thursday: 7pm - 7:30am

* Friday: 7pm - 7:30am

* Starting at $58,500 annually, commensurate with experience
