TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Bakersfield, California, 93301! Pay Information $3,185 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years required License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: - Experience working in a Labor & Delivery unit - Comfortable taking 2 patients as per ACOG guidelines - Cerner documentation system experience Description: This position involves working in a Labor & Delivery unit with 12 beds and 6 triage beds. Nurses will manage high-risk patients and multiple births, including C-sections. Nurses are expected to run insulin drips and magnesium drips as needed. Patients are monitored closely post-surgery for C-sections. Nurses will recover babies after delivery and facilitate skin-to-skin contact. There are no nurse aides; however, OB techs are available to assist with C-sections and baby care. Charge nurses are present around the clock but do not take patients. The unit is a busy environment, delivering over 300 patients per month. Nurses must be familiar with thorough charting, as documentation is not by exception only. Strong Labor & Delivery experience is essential for this role. The unit operates with a high volume and fast pace, requiring adaptability and efficiency. There are protocols in place to assist with patient care and ensure safety. This is a closed unit with no floating required.
