Quality Assurance & Food Safety Manager Teeccino, a natural foods company with the best-selling brand in the coffee alternative category, manufactures herbal coffees and teas in Oxnard, CA. We are seeking a key Quality Assurance manager with experience in food safety regulations management, policies, and procedures.The primary role of this position is to review, manage and improve Teeccino's FSMA/FSVP for compliance to FDA standards. He/she will oversee our Food Defense and Food Safety plans, conduct internal audits validating our processes. He/She will also develop, implement and enforce security and food safety standards, HACCP plans, policies, and staff training programs, including managing regulatory audits, standard operating procedures (SOP's), product inspections, and standardized work instructions.Must be able to set and attain goals, initiate action to resolve problems and improve products and processes.Teeccino is a family-owned and managed company committed to health and wellness. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following: Responsible for ensuring all areas of Teeccino manufacturing comply with company (GMP),Organic (QAI), Federal and State regulatory guidelines (USDA, FDA, FSMA) Oversees coordination and documentation of the food safety training programs to include: third party audits, sanitation, microbiology, pest control, chemical, allergen management, HACCP,GMP, SOP's, and Internal Auditing. Ensures the proper monitoring and effectiveness of all components of the Food Security System. Creates effective environmental monitoring, testing and control programs for pathogenic bacteria. Manage reporting and communication to prepare for audits and assessments. Stay up to date on the latest regulatory requirements, and constantly re-assess and challenge company standards to ensure the safest food supply possible. Work closely with production and warehouse personnel on any food safety or quality issues. Ensure that all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly at all times Develop and maintain documentation such as SOP's, as well as maintenance of manuals, policies and procedures as related to any food safety concerns. Responsible for validating HACCP plans and changes to food safety fundamentals and food safety plans including updating existing food safety procedures and documentation to keep up with changing requirements Ensure that proper maintenance and sanitation of the facility complies with food safety requirements Manage corrective and preventive action plans and follow throughs. Oversee the submission of all required documentation to various certification agencies, includingOrganic, Kosher, Vegan, Gluten & Plant based Certification Skills, Work Experience Requirements and Qualifications Concrete knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, GFSI. 1-5 years' experience in a food processing plant, with working knowledge implementing HAACP,GHP, food safety and sanitation standards Must be able to set and attain goals, initiate action to resolve problems and improve products and processes. High level of integrity and accountability Excellent problem solving and follow up skills Must be comfortable working independently with minimal oversight Must have strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS) Prior development of organoleptic acuity (Taste, Sight, & Scent) Extremely keen attention to detail Experience in U.S Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) labeling regulation Proficiency in English and Spanish, a plus. Education, Certifications, Licenses and Registrations: B.A. or B.S. Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Food Science andTechnology; 1-5 years of food product or process development or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
