Each hospital is supported by an active philanthropic Foundation to provide additional funding to support new programs and services, as well as to advance the communityas access to health care.A For more information, visit:A www.dignityhealth.org/centralcoastResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:Responsible for the implementation and execution of an ongoing, comprehensive fundraising and development operations, in support of and in concert with the mission of the Foundation and supported organizations.Principal Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Leads the development of a comprehensive, annual fundraising plan which responds to the defined needs of the foundations and supported organizations.
  • Manages and oversees professional fundraising and support staff, and is the Foundation lead with Board and community leaders in growing financial and public relations support for the associated supported organization(s)
  • Directs and oversees the receipt of charitable gifts, their finanical stewardship and their ultimate distribution to the hospital and related entities, to ensure continuous support of the foundation and supported organization(s) mission.
  • Acts as the senior major gifts and planned giving officer, actively managing a portfolio of prospects and donors, meeting regularly with donors and prospects to create and foster relationships.Core Compentencies

      • Knowledge of the concepts, tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive, transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations.
      • Knowledge of the policies and techniques to manage a set of related projects within a program; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control the set of projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources, to achieve program objectives.
      • Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
      • Knowledge of organizational politics and political tactics; ability to effectively navigate formal and informal communication and decision-making channels.-LI-DHQualificationsQualifications:Minimum:
        • Minimum of seven (7) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience.
        • Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
        • Master's degree in a related field or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.Preferred:
