Systems has an opening for a Sr. Staff Manufacturing Systems
Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within
our Advanced Manufacturing Technology organization. This technical
leadership role is located in El Segundo, CA. The Sr. Staff
Manufacturing Systems Engineer will lead a team of Manufacturing
Systems Engineers in defining, developing, implementing, and
transitioning new and disruptive technology solutions to our
programs to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the following: Key
Responsibilities: Manufacturing concept and process solutions for
production applications cover advanced technologies including but
not limited to composites fabrication, assembly, automation,
inspection, direct part manufacturing, LO technologies, as well as
digital capabilities Knowledge and execution of Contract Research &
Development (CRAD) activities Work with Global Supply Chain and use
Small Business experience and knowledge to act with speed on
evolving and replacing baseline technologies Incorporate
requirements into development plans and evaluate performance of
processes and tools to verify their efficiency Identify and
initiate corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure
R&D contractual obligations (technical, schedule, and cost) are
met and product quality is maintained Provide guidance regarding
design concepts, TRL/MRL maturity, and specification requirements
to best utilize resources and manufacturing techniques, and ensure
processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations
Interface with internal and external customers, program offices,
engineering disciplines, and executive management In addition, the
role will require the ability to handle multiple projects
concurrently in a dynamic/fast-paced work environment Budgeting and
Project Management skills will be utilized to properly scope and
execute assigned work and manage project efforts Conduct
performance assessments, and regular conversations about employee
development, communication, compensation adjustments, training &
educational oversight/ approval and other routine personnel issues
Assess, prioritize and adjust staffing to current and projected
program needs Facilitate engineering support, review and approval
of Bid & Proposal (B&P) requests Support program gate reviews
as the engineering review authority, and assist in resolution of
program engineering challenges (technical, financial, and staffing)
Coordinate across programs and functions for common efficiencies
and operational gains Make decisions that impact the organization,
operations, and services in a timely manner, demonstrating the

Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's Degree (STEM) AND 14 years
of related professional/military experience in aviation, systems
engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production OR a Master's
Degree (STEM) AND 12 years of related professional/military
experience in aviation, systems engineering, aerospace or
manufacturing/production OR PhD Degree (STEM) AND 10 years of
related professional/military experience in aviation, systems
engineering, aerospace or manufacturing/production. Must have an
active DoD Secret clearance or higher (with a background
investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently
enrolled in Continuous Evaluation). Ability to obtain and maintain
Special Program Access (PAR) as determined by business needs.
Ability to travel 25-35% of the time. Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management Experience working with Research & Advanced
Design (R&AD) Division Experience with using Microsoft Office
Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS-Project, Visio) Experience in
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) Prior experience operating in
a dynamic environment of increasing production schedules and high
delivery rates Project / Program Management skills (proposal
creation, scheduling, budget tracking) Strong Familiarity with
Process Development & Controls Ability to lead through, overcome
and adapt to obstacles and challenges. Ability to deal effectively
with change and challenges and helps others to do the same.
Technical Demonstrated technical leadership skills, decisiveness,
and ability to make sound technical judgments with limited
information Well-versed, skilled, and disciplined in system
engineering processes 5 years of Manufacturing Engineering
experience Experience in generating requirements, specifically, the
ability to turn vague customer needs or stakeholder inputs into
requirements. Siemens NX, TcE, CPLM, SAP, and Manufacturing
Execution Systems Experience with production assembly/fabrication
and/or production manufacturing operations Technical Writing
capability Experience in hardware/software integration of
manufacturing systems Architecture, Design & Integration experience
for engineering systems and software Experience with production
assembly/fabrication including Digital Transformation, Augmented
Reality/Virtual Reality, Systems Integration, IIoT, RFID, and/or
production manufacturing operations. Experience with advanced
networking capabilities Working knowledge of classified information
systems infrastructure Experience working in a Research and
Development environment. Ability to use Model-based Systems
Engineering (MBSE) tools and concepts to define functions and
develop functional and performance requirements. Other Experience
as Principal Investigator on government CRAD and/or Internal
Research and Development programs. Experience working with IPTs,
other stakeholders, and various customers such as Air Force and
Navy Primary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $289,200.00 The
above salary range represents a general guideline; however,
Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining
base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the
position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and
current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may
be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary
bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to
reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share
in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director
positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition,
