SUMMARY

The Electrical Engineer 2 integrates, maintains, tests, and evaluates electrical and electronic systems for a CNC control system under supervision of a senior engineer or department manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Electrical cable designing based on system requirements and electrical best practices.
• Manages and maintains multiple machine configurations
• Proposes problem solutions through analysis, problem definition, requirement generation and implementation of proposed solutions.
• Creates documentation and supporting diagrams supporting solutions.
• Investigates failures of existing designs by collecting and analyzing data, provides suggestions for failure mitigation and redesign.
• Will be responsible for sustaining and/or cost reduction by analyzing and evaluating alternate-source components. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Minimum Qualifications
  • Some board level design experience.
  • Knowledgeable of either Altium or Mentor Graphics to evaluate schematics and board layout
  • Experience with SolidWorks is required. Experience with SolidWorks routing is preferred.
  • Knowledge to select electrical components based on a specification and/or system requirements.
  • Experience in general electronics.
  • Knowledge of NEC and/or NFPA79 is a plus.
  • Experience with general test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters and current probes.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications when appropriate.
  • Experience with an ERP system such as SAP or equivalent is a plus.
    
    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechatronics from a four-year college or university and 0-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
