This position is available at the Northrop Grumman Space Systems facility in Oxnard, CA, which is part of the Space Component Division who specializes in. deployable systems for spacecraft such as reflectors, instrument booms, and various extendible support structures.. As a **Senior Structural Engineer,** you will be responsible for performing design analysis and testing of one or more of the spacecraft systems of subsystems. You will have ownership of your work from the concept creation through the design and analysis phases and may also participate in the manufacturing, testing, and integration of the systems.. **Responsibilities:**. Perform static and dynamic structural analyses, review requirements for materials, structure systems & subsystems.. Document test plans and procedure requirements.. Participate and present in internal and external (customer) design reviews.. Strive for the highest possible structural performance that is also cost effective and assures complete reliability.. Manage and track multiple priorities while maintaining a focus towards common project goals of the program team, matrixorganization, and customers.. **Basic Qualifications:**. Bachelor's degree from a STEM program required and a minimum of 9 years' of engineering experience in finite element analysis and closed-form analysis OR a Master's degree from a STEM program and 7 years' of engineering experience in structural analysis. Demonstrated experience with FEA analysis, preferably FEMAP/NASTRAN, for structural analysis of designs.. Spacecraft/aerospace materials experience for metals, adhesives, thermoplastics, etc.. Demonstrated understanding of mechanical system design. Strong communication skills, oral and written.. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.. Ability to multitask and organize/prioritize job assignments in a fast-paced and gated-release engineering developmentenvironment.. Salary Range: $81,700.00 - $151,800.00. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
