Sit-Down Forklift Job Description As a Material Handler, you will
be responsible for the efficient handling of materials, including
inbound, outbound, put-away, and inventory processes. This role
requires physical stamina and a commitment to safety while
maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The position
is based in a climate-controlled facility where you will initially
train on the first shift, Monday through Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30
PM. There is a possibility of moving to the second shift, Monday
through Friday, 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM after the contract period of
12.5 weeks. Overtime is voluntary, with sign-up sheets posted one
week in advance. Responsibilities Unload materials from incoming
trailers and place them in staging areas. Break down pallets, sort
materials by Stock Keeping Unit, count, and separate them. Place
materials in proper locations while maintaining high standards.
Stock and maintain correct inventory levels. Pick and pack
materials to prepare for assembly or shipment. Palletize materials,
band/wrap, weigh, and load them onto trailers. Use SAP for
receipts, transfers, and shipping transactions. Discard scrap
and/or defective materials that are not serviceable. Initiate scrap
tickets to generate part replacement orders. Operate forklifts and
other powered/manual material lifting/handling equipment. Perform
other tasks as directed by supervision. Essential Skills High
School diploma or equivalent. Basic shop math knowledge. Basic
computer skills. Ability to use basic mechanical and measuring
tools. Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the
English language. Ability to work standing for the duration of the
shift. Capability to reach, grasp, lift 50 lbs, and push/pull/slide
heavy materials. Coordination for making movements of hands and
arms to grasp and move objects. Ability to stoop, bend, squat,
crawl, and climb. Additional Skills & Qualifications Must be at
least 18 years of age. Experience operating sit-down, pacer, and
reach electric lifts is advantageous. Unionized site with
eligibility for conversion after 90 days of employment. Why Work

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out
of Pomona, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is
$18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits
and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
