support.How you make a difference:The Psychiatric Technician
performs technical and manual tasks related to patient care under
the direction of the Regional Mental Health Director, Health
Services Administrator, or higher licensed medical professional.
The job duties include providing direct care, support, and
assistance to patients with mental illnesses or behavioral
disorders, as well as assisting with therapeutic activities,
medication management, and crisis intervention. The Psychiatric
Technician ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal
regulations while maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment
for patients.Key Responsibilities:Collects basic data and
contributes to the evaluation of individualized interventions for
mental health patients in accordance with their care or treatment
plan.Provides direct patient care, including basic nursing
services, medication administration, communication skills for
patient care and education, and contributing to self-care teaching
plans.Maintains communication with Psych RN, LCSW/LMFT,
MD/psychiatrist, or NP/PA regarding patients' mental health needs
while maintaining confidentiality.Transcribes doctor's orders,
assists with program admission and discharge paperwork, and manages
and organizes mental health clinical documentation and
records.Assists with electronic data input and data gathering,
continuity of care, discharge planning, attendance in program
meetings, and gathering persons served identification and social
information.Qualifications & Requirements:EducationHigh school and
specialized training for licensing/certification(s)Experience1-3
years post-licensure experience requiredBasic knowledge of all
psychotropic medications being dispensedCorrectional mental health
experience is preferredLicenses/CertificationsCurrent (and must
maintain) unrestricted LPT license, certification or registration
in state of practiceCurrent (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS
